NYC, LA & SF

Was in New York City (NYC) for 3 days during the Christmas period, then headed off to Los Angeles (LA) for 5 days & finally, to my favourite city in the US so far aka San Francisco (SF).
Didn't really get to see much in NYC because it was pretty empty with most of the shops closed on Christmas Eve & Christmas Day itself. Expected more from NYC but unfortunately, we picked the wrong dates to go.
Dined in Cupping Room Cafe during our stay in NYC. The cafe had a modern yet vintage vibe to it. I wouldn't say the staff were friendly, but customer service was there so can't complain much. The food & coffee tasted exactly like what you would get in a "boujee" cafe. Personally, I liked the interior of the cafe & enjoyed the food too.

Popped by Carlo's Bake Shop to get a taste of their cakes & pastries.

Did not snap a picture of the pastries but here's an Instagram video of what we bought haha. I only remembered loving the cheesecake because it is the kind of consistency that I like my cheesecake to be - dense & thick.
Tried one of their froyo brands too, pinkberry. Loved their brownie bites!

Last but not least in NYC, we chanced upon Canal Street which housed quite a few popular food stores. One of them being the Boba Guys. I remembered coming across reviews raving about the Boba Guys in the USA, hence, being a bubble tea lover, I had to give it a try.

Honestly, I could not remember what I ordered but it was either their hojicha milk tea or India chai milk tea with oat milk & tapioca balls. I'm sure the reason why I could not remember the drink was that it probably tasted mediocre ... but the tapioca balls were chewy & it did satisfy my bubble tea cravings. :P

Moving on, we headed to LA. The most memorable food that I had was definitely Eggslut which was located in Grand Central Market. Went on a weekday around 11 am & the queue was insane. We queued for about 45 mins to 1 hour before we could get our hands on the food.

I got the most basic item on the menu which was Fairfax: scrambled eggs with chives, caramalised onions, cheddar cheese and sriracha mayo in a brioche bun. Well ... I guess you could say it's worth the wait. Warm fluffy scrambled eggs with melted cheese in a soft brioche bun that melts in every bite you took ... was really satisfying. Damn, they should open a store in SG.

Chanced upon Blue Bottle Coffee cafe which was opposite Grand Central Market. Again, I have seen a lot of hype regarding this coffee brand so we decided to give it a try.

Ordered New Orleans which was basically iced coffee with milk. I am not a coffee connoisseur so I don't really know how to describe their coffee. However, I would buy it again although the price was quite steep.

On another day, we went to explore Beverly Hills & had lunch at Cheesecake Factory. My order was really simple, just scrambled eggs with toast & added on a ham.

After our mains, we ordered a godiva chocolate cheesecake & it was SOOOO good, I kid you not. The cheesecake was rich & dense, exactly how I like my cheesecake to be.

After exploring Beverly Hills, we headed to Hollywood Walk of Fame. Bought this waffle snacks from Wafflejack. Got both savoury & sweet options.

We also spent a day in Disneyland & here are some of the overpriced snacks that we bought from the park:
Mickey mouse pretzel

Butterbeer

Soft serve

Spent our last days in San Fransicso & we headed to Boudin Bakery to try their clam chowder.

I really enjoyed their clam chowder, as well as their sourdough bread! Perfect for the cold weather. :)

On one particular day, I had a strong craving for bubble tea & egglet. Made a quick Google search & found out there was a Boba Guys near our hotel so of course, we queued & got the drinks.

Also managed to satisfy my egglet craving. :P
For dinner, we were also craving for Chinese food & decided to give Rooster & Rice a try! They were really generous with the chicken. Can't be compared with our local chicken rice, but at least it satisfied our cravings when we were in SF.

That concludes my food adventure in the states! Got to try most of the food that I wanted to ... so I would say that it was a good trip. :)
