Seoul has got to be my favourite city I have been to so far. Great food, endless shopping & filled with people who won't disturb you (unlike some cities that I have been to .... *coughs* LA *coughs* NYC *coughs*).

Let's start off with their amazing street food from ...

Spicy fried chicken & tteokbokki

ree

Churros

ree

Enoki mushroom wrapped with bacon

ree

Waffle

ree

Ice cream o.O

ree

Sweet little dough of goodness with a hard-boiled egg inside

ree

... and the list of street food just goes on!

ree

Just a shout out to my favourite street food ... egg bread! With a sweet tooth & a love for eggs, this is the perfect snack to go. A pity SG does not have this. :(

Moving on, these are the places that are usually a must-go for tourists. 3 times I have been to Seoul, 3 times I have been to these places.

First, we have Tosokchon Samgyetang, famous for its Korean ginseng chicken soup. Honestly, the only times when I eat ginseng chicken soup is when I am here so my opinions are probably not valid for this dish. All I can say its a hearty bowl of soup with soft chicken meat stuffed with glutinous rice & there's nothing much to hate about it.

ree

Secondly, we have Myeongdong Kyoja, famous for its fat & succulent pork dumplings and their soup noodles as well. Definitely worth a visit!

ree

Just look at those perfect shaped dumplings ...

ree

Thirdly, we have Osulloc Tea House Cafe, originally from Jeju Island. However, I am sure there are quite a few outlets in Seoul now. If you are a green tea lover, you will definitely love their range of food & drinks here!

ree

Finally, here is just a list of common food that is popular in Korea.

ree

Tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes) is a must-have when you are in Korea. I am sure almost all the stores there that sell tteokbokki will taste way better than the ones we have in Singapore. My favourite has got to be from a store called JAWS in Seoul. There is a Jaws in almost everywhere we went so I am sure you will see a store somewhere if you do travel to Seoul!

Their rice cakes have the perfect chewy consistency & their sauce has this really spicy kick to them ... it's really D-E-L-I-C-I-O-U-S & addictive.

Tteokbokki mixed with ramen is really yummy too. <3

ree

Of course, when you are in Korea, you got to have bingsu, be it in the cold or hot weather. This was a place in Myeongdong called Sulbing Korean Dessert Cafe if I did not remember wrongly. I love their injeolmi bingsu ... something about the bean powder just hits different.

ree

Their injeolmi toast was yummy too. :)

ree

Dak-galbi (chicken stir-fry), another one of Korea's famous dishes. We ate this in Yoogane and I remembered it was really shiok! If you are a cheese lover, remember to add extra cheese. Even if you are not a cheese lover, just add the cheese. It makes a whole lot of difference. Add ramen noodles too.

ree

And here is something that you'll probably will see people eating in almost every Korean dramas ... Korean barbeque (KBBQ). Honestly, there are just SO MANY different BBQ shops in Seoul that we just randomly chose one to dine in. Quite positive we were pleased with this.

ree

Last but not least, Korean fried chicken!! So many different fried chicken chains in Seoul & plenty of them I have yet to try. But we ate this fried chicken from Kyochon Chicken. There's something about Korean fried chicken that makes it so darn delicious ... is it the sauce? chicken? batter? skills? I got no idea but it just tastes different from the typical fried chicken you get in Singapore. And I am not a fried chicken lover, BUT Korean fried chicken ... you have to eat it at least once.

ree
ree

I forgot which fried chicken outlet was this ... nonetheless, it does not really matter because I believe most Korean fried chicken chains serve delicious fried chicken. :P

Other than those mentioned above, we have also tried other foods & here are some of our favourites ...

ree

When you are in Myeongdong station & managed to come across this tiny store called "Deli Manjoo" ... please do give it a try! Bite-sized fluffy dough of goodness filled with custard (or maybe corn? I am not exactly sure also cause it taste like custard to me haha) that are really addictive! One is not enough ~

Tried their banana milk too ... personally, not my favourite.

ree

Went to LINE cafe as well, food & prices would be what you'll expect from a themed cafe. Definitely cute though.

ree

Tried the local food stores as well.

ree
ree

And that concludes my food memories of Seoul. I am sure I will definitely return again &

when I do, I will make sure I eat all the other new foods they have!!!
